  • Abstract

As Cambodia transitions toward middle-income status, the demand for quality protein, particularly chicken is rapidly growing. Smallholder poultry farming remains critical to rural livelihoods, yet these farmers face increasing risks from climate change.

The brief highlights essential practices for strengthening climate resilience among small-scale chicken producers, including improved biosecurity, climate-adaptive housing, heat stress mitigation, and informed feed management. These interventions are pivotal to ensuring sustainable, low-input poultry production that meets growing market demand while supporting rural resilience and gender equity.
