The Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) 2025 is the leading annual investment event for the renewable electrification sector, dedicated to fostering partnerships between businesses and investors to accelerate sustainable electricity access. Organised by the alliance for rural electrification (ARE) and supported by GET.Invest, the event plays a crucial role in mobilising finance for renewable energy solutions that drive economic growth, decarbonisation, and climate resilience.

Our focus areas

Investing in clean energy solutions, including energy efficiency, is essential for driving market development and agricultural productivity. At EAIF 2025 we will highlight:

  • Commitment to universal energy access – Underlining the continued drive towards achieving universal energy access and the importance of building on national energy compacts and new energy access initiatives such as M300.

  • Scalable delivery models – Highlighting the urgent need to replicate viable and fast delivery mechanisms to leverage the investments needed to meet 2030 ambitions.

  • Innovative financial models – Reinforcing the importance of effective market development fund models and engagement with the private sector.

  • Energy efficiency for agriculture – Exploring how integrating renewable energy solutions into agricultural value chains strengthens resilience and improves productivity.

SNV at EAIF 2025

During the event, SNV will host and participate in the following sessions:

Side event: Low-cost rural electrification approaches and financing to enhance affordability for end-users of DRE systems

Ensuring affordable and sustainable access to energy in rural areas requires innovative financing models and cost-effective deployment strategies. This session explores practical approaches to low-cost rural electrification, highlighting decentralised renewable energy (DRE) solutions that balance affordability with long-term viability. Experts will discuss financing mechanisms including results-based financing, blended finance, and consumer-friendly payment models that enhance accessibility for end-users while enabling market growth. Case studies and insights from the field will illustrate how collaborative efforts can drive scalable, impactful electrification initiatives.

Side event: Enabling investments: Energy efficiency & PURE markets as a catalyst for Africa's agri-food & energy nexus

This side event, hosted by SNV in partnership with GOGLA, aims to explore the critical role of investments in energy efficiency and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) markets as catalysts for the agri-food and energy nexus in Africa. By examining the business case of SNV’s Inclusive Markets for Energy Efficiency (IMEU) in Uganda, the session will highlight actionable insights and replicable models for leveraging investments in energy efficiency to advance the agri-food and energy nexus.
